ODI
Sourav Ganguly and Great Indian cricket Circus!
Well, it is a bad news for Rahul Dravid & Co. that Sourav Ganguly is back in ODI team and seems to be getting back his ACTUAL ODI form gradually though he has not yet got back the best yet.
It is just like a fairy tells that whenever he is undone and pressure seems to be getting better of him, he gives the apt reply tothe critics. He has been in runs for last 6 months or so. But our
cricket board led by "honourable" president and secretary who constantly try to prove they have played SOME cricket find new avenues to oust such a precious jewel like Sourav from the team. It is really amazing how shameless these guys is that they are hell bent to prove that Sourav has neither been a good captain nor any more indispensable though some are.
To tell in the name of regular players' categorically:
i)Sachin: Has lost his best years ago, but selectors are at his mercy! Even they don't dare chucking poor-form-sachin alone and makes Sourav the scapegoat to REST sachin.
ii)Rahul: Has never been a leader and seems his over cautious approach won't allow him to be a good one even if he stays for more 5 yrs.
Iii)Sehwag: He himself does not know when will he perform if at all. He was busier in dirty groupism nowadays against Sachin-Sourav , thanks to skipper Dravid's support !
iv) Yuvraj: Has been the best example of how to waste serious talent. His bohemian style might take a toll on his consistency
v)Munaf: Pathetic to watch on the field with the team blazers on . A permanent injured bowler for India
vi)Srisanth: Better dancer and actor than what was expected as a bowler.
vii)Dhoni: An incomplete package of batsman, keeper and model. For sometimes, he was busier in off the field photo session and comments than on field performance.
viii)Zaheer: Only Sherlock Holmes could have said how to avoid injuries.
ix)Raina: Very efficient player to save 30 runs and score 20 (TOTAL=50)
x)Power: What exercise does he do off the field to look more & more ___
xi)Jaffer: Very YOUNG (at 31) and is some how going to be our future.
........And for these guys Sourav does not get a regular chance in the
one dayers and test matches.
Cudos to the selectors (or some thing else behind the scenes?).
Well, at present Sourav is constantly trying to prove them wrong. Luckily he got the chance to play in the on going Afro-Asia Cup and has scored maximum total runs fro his side till 2ndODI.
Sourav missed three centuries after his ODI come back –
One against West Indies in his come back ODI – 98
One against Barmuda in World Cup – 91
Afro Asian cup – 88
And if one checks the consistency of Indian Batsmen – none is near to SC Ganguly.
