Indian media very often defies its limit and once more it was proved in
Sourav Ganguly episode .
If South Indian media is enamoured of Rahul Dravid then West media is with
Sachin with its amchi Mumbai feeling. So what's wrong when Calcutta media
supports most successful Indian cricket captain!
It is one thing to write against someone but it is entirely different thing to
vilify someone deliberately day after day. And Indian media did exactly
that against Ganguly.
I-don't- care attitude of Sourav created some enemies in media world
who did not get much favour from him in getting comments .They waited for
opportune moment and started spitting their venom when they found Ganguly off
guarded .
Even Sharad Pawar, blamed the media for showing Ganguly in wrong
light.
''Whatever was written in the media was not right and it was unfair
on media's part to write those things about a player who has brought so
much glory for India ,'' he added.
But much damage has already been done to Sourav's image in last
three months time .
Maximum retribution came from the largest selling English print media
house. The way they attacked Sourav ,it crossed iterally the dignity of journalism .
Same paper when Sourav performed in Ranji and made a century totally ignored
that news . Even a great drubbing of Indian side at Eden was projected in
such a manner that nothing serious has happened!
After all their distasteful gestures, we will only say ---Truth must
prevail .
Creation of hate site like www.ihateganguly.com against Ganguly by some one and putting that obnoxious instance as
news in front page of the same news paper –only proves a point that not
just any small fry , but a big group of people are involved in spearheading the
anti-Ganguly
operation. Because the site not only abuses Ganguly, it simultaneously
abuses Kolkata and Bengali community as well.
We can't blame South Indian media since they are consistent all through in
their parochial myopic approach .Any thing beyond four states of South is bad
in India --- if that is the stand point of them, then there is no point of
arguing any further to imperil one's sense and sensibility .
Even electronic media is not far behind. They arranged different talk
shows just to mortify Sourav . In "aaj ka Mujrim" programme the
daily dose of Bishen Singh Bedi against Ganguly was so distasteful that
people at some point of time will ponder that the same gentleman once played
for India and has no respect for his successors. So is Sekhar Suman's
caricature! Mr.Suman , first deserve then desire to taunt someone cult
figure like Sourav Ganguly !First go to twenty two yards pitch, face all
great bowlers ,make such feat like Soruav , then if you have enough energy
left by that time, do whatever buffoonery you want to present in TV shows ! First
bring so many laurels for country like Sourav, and then criticize him.
Unfortunately you forget that one should not through stones living in a
glass house. .
NDTV also slyly follows the same path to denounce Sourav . Most of the
media nowadays ,are the mouth speaker of different business barons and they
dance to the tune of those mandarins.
It is a tragedy of the time that Indian media teaches Indian crowd how
to humiliate Indian heroes!
